This simple but practical Twin 39-inch platform bed is great value for your money, as it does not require a box spring. In addition, the decorative legs will give your bedroom a stylish touch. It can be combined with all South Shore’s collections available in Natural Maple finish. It is designed to support a maximum weight of 250-pound. It is also available in Pure Black, Pure White or Chocolate finish. It measures 78-inch long by 43-inch wide by 13-1/2-inch high. It is delivered in a box measuring 81-1/2-inch by 23-1/4-inch by 4-1/4-inch weighing 100-pound. Made of recycled CARB2 compliant laminated particle panels. Complete assembly required by 2 adults. Tools are not included. Made in Canada.

We chose this bed for the simplicity and the price. It is a good basic first twin bed for my 4 year old. I like that it is lower to the ground than some twin beds so it's not difficult for him to climb in and out of, especially because we chose a higher profile mattress. It is 3 inches wider than the twin mattress though so that leaves a 1.5 inch gap on each side of the mattress exposing the ugly platform boards. I guess when we get his quilt this might be covered better. I wish the bed fit the mattress tighter and had more of a lip to hold the mattress. Assembly was not too difficult but having a power drill/screwdriver would be very helpful as there were no pilot holes drilled for any of the screws. We did it without a power drill but it took significantly longer. Our bed did arrive with a broken platform piece (although we believe this was from the UPS driver who was not careful bringing it up the stairs to our apartment...it is a very heavy box!). We called South Shore Furniture and they are sending a replacement board and their customer service was easy to deal with. The original board was not completely broken and had cracked right over where one of the supports is place so we were still able to set up the bed but hopefully they can send a new board without it getting broken in transportation.
